jumping is a good start. :) but if you want to try to, like... baby bird yourself, try something not quite as tall. like a box, or a bench.
also i find with all things magic and magic-adjacent, it helps to focus my mind on what i'm trying to accomplish overall. like instead of just 'i want to fly', i might focus on 'i want to fly to the store' or 'i want to see the city from above'. does that make sense??
